LLM/AI Policy

Short version:

We respect your time, and no content that’s meant to be read by a human is LLM generated.

If something is LLM generated, it will be clearly called out as such. LLMs may have been used for spellchecks, formatting, and other cosmetic rules.

Long Version

Written content has gotten really cheap to create, and simultaneously very hard to identify.

The process of writing is not just converting a direct stream of thoughts into text. You type slower than you think, and that process implicitly involves a level of clarification, and editing. When it takes less time to write something than to read it, it’s basically pushing the cognitive work to the reader.

If our goal is to be a high quality, opinionated resource on how to run your events and communities, it’s antithetical to put something out that’s not our own words and ideas.

We’re aware that this is probably a futile effort as AI slop is only going up and to the right, and people are increasingly going to assume everything they encounter is LLM-generated, and won’t bother reading. Some people might only interact with this knowledge base via Google AI summaries or when their AI chatbot searches the internet.
